Get Involved with Island Beach State Park

National Trails Day

The Friends of Island Beach State Park will be hosting the Island Beach State Park Beach Trail Blitz on Saturday, June 1st from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Help us to prepare our beach and bay access trails for the busy summer season, so the park can be enjoyed by everyone.

We will be grooming trails, pruning bushes/trees, fixing split rail fencing damaged by winter storms, and conducting litter patrols. This is a great event for scouts, high school groups, environmental organizations and those who just love IBSP.

Volunteers should pre-register for this event HERE

On-site registration will be held at the OBA2 bathing pavilion beginning at 2:30pm.

The event will be held rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather. We suggest wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants to minimize scrapes and scratches. You should also plan to bring drinking water, bug spray, sun screen, work gloves, metal rakes, shovels, pruning shears/loppers, and bow saws.

Make it a complete family fun day and come down to the park before our event for hiking, bird watching, surf fishing, kayaking on the bay, hanging on the beach and many other park activities.

Remember...many hands make light work and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
